a LONG night

Yesterday, our sweet little puppy was not himself. He did not want to play on the tennis courts, which is one of his favorite things. He did not finish his dinner, which he always devours. He was very calm the whole day. We knew he wasn't feeling well but did not know exactly what was wrong. He also had some terrible diarrhea (I will spare you the graphic details). Last night we woke up to take him out and found that he had throw up. We called the Emergency Vet and took him in at 2 a.m. However, we had been up with him at 1. We finally arrived home at 4 a.m. He did not have an infection or a parasite. She believes it was related to the stress of being boarded last week. After several hundred dollars and hours without sleep, we returned home with medicines for our sleepy, sick puppy. Hopefully, this will pass and he will feel better soon. The joys of having a puppy!!

Happy Birthday

Happy Belated Birthday Bethany!! Friday was my sister's 24th birthday, and I wish I could have been with her to celebrate. She is living in Miami right now, so I miss her so much!! I miss the days of sharing a room with her and living in the same city if not in the same house. She is my best friend!! Sissy, I hope your day was wonderful, and I look forward to spending time with you over Christmas.

Today is my Mom's birthday. Don't worry Mom, I won't reveal your age. My siblings and I always race to call my parents first on special days. Sometimes, I wake really early just so I can be number 1. They all know I'm the favorite but it helps for Mom or Dad to tell them every once in a while. Well, today, I failed. I called the house on my way to work this morning, and the line was busy. I knew someone else had beat me. I am at a slight disadvantage right now, since Adam, Luke, and Bethany all live on Eastern time. Congrats Luke to winning, but Mom did tell me she liked our conversation better. Ha! Ha! Anyways, Happy Birthday Mom!! I hope your day was amazing. You deserve only the best. Thanks for your constant love, support, and encouragement.

Happy Birthday to two of my favorite women!! I love you both so much and miss you too. Can't wait to celebrate in a few weeks.

St. Jude Weekend

We had some friends from Nashville visit for the weekend. Friday night, Jenny, Owen, and Betsy arrived in time to pick up the St. Jude packets and to eat dinner at The Happy Mexican. Picking up the packets was quite an experience. Why were there Belly Dancers?? I found that very odd, and it was very funny. After dinner, I went to the airport to pick up Craig. I was glad he canceled an interview, so he could be in town for all the fun. We went to Meaghan and Brandon's to hang out for a little while, and when we arrived Emily and Ryan had made it to town too.Saturday morning started early. All the girls and Ryan participated in the 5k. Owen and Brandon ran the Half Marathon. It was a cold morning, but we had so much fun!! We went to Memphis Pizza Cafe for lunch and to Muddy's for cupcakes. Then, we went back to the apartments to crash...that is everyone but myself. I watched the SEC Championship and was so proud of my team for dominating the game!! I was confident that we could beat Florida, and I believe we played the best game of our season. Now, I can't wait for the BCS Championship. There will be a lot of trash talking in our house until the game.Saturday night we had a Tacky Christmas Sweater Party. We were not brave enough to go out in public, so everyone came over to our apartment for dinner, games, and Dirty Santa. The pictures will speak for the evening! We had so much fun hanging out with friends from college, and we are so thankful they came to visit.

Christmas Decorations

Craig and I pulled out the Christmas decorations last night but did not get through all the boxes. I knew it was in there, but I did not know how it would hit me. Around box four, I found it and the tears filled my eyes. If you knew my Aunt Cathy, you know she loved Christmas. One of her trademarks was painting gourds to look like Santa. We were lucky to receive one as a wedding gift, and I'm so glad she painted it for me. I remember her telling me she stayed up really late the night before my shower so she could finish it. I spent several minutes in tears on my couch just looking at it. Christmas will not be easy, but I'm so thankful I have a piece of Aunt Cathy with me. Now, I just need to find the perfect spot for my Santa.
